BioLife Plasma Services, a subsidiary of Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Ltd., invites applications for the role of Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse). This position is located in Stockton, CA, USA.

About the role
As a Medical Support Specialist, you will support plasma center operations under guidance of the Center Manager and Center Physician. The role includes determining donor eligibility, managing donor adverse events, reviewing laboratory test results, providing donor notification of unsuitable results, handling medical emergencies per SOPs, supporting vaccination programs, managing employee incidents, and acting as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized.

Responsibilities

Determine donor eligibility, including proper management of informed consent, AIDS education, confidential self‑exclusion, medical history interview and acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and reviewing Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE).

Evaluate donor reactions per SOPs, follow applicable medical emergency SOPs, develop standing orders with Center Physician, and ensure donor transport to emergency care facilities.

Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or medical/technical issues concerning donor safety and eligibility.

Support the Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.

Manage employee incidents and determine if further evaluation is required by occupational health/E.R.; refer to EHS guidance regarding employee incidents.

Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS, supporting investigations related to pandemic threats within the local community.

Qualifications





High school diploma or equivalent, including graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements.

Currently licensed or certified in the state: Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner (NP), or Physician Assistant (PA).

Current CPR and AED certification.

Fulfillment of state requirements for basic IV therapy.

Successful completion of FDA approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.

Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Compensation and Advantages
Hourly wage range: $38.72 - $53.24 USD (subject to location and qualifications). U.S. employees may be eligible for medical, dental, vision insurance, 401(k) plan with company match, short‑term and long‑term disability, life insurance, tuition reimbursement, paid volunteer time off, holidays, and well‑being benefits. U.S. employees may receive up to 80 hours of sick time per year and up to 120 hours of paid vacation for new hires.
