The Position
As a Virtual Chief Information Officer / vCIO, you will serve as a trusted strategic advisor to F12’s top‑tier clients, helping business leaders align technology decisions with business goals, risk management, operational maturity, and long‑term growth. You will lead executive‑level technology conversations, develop client technology roadmaps, identify opportunities for modernization, and partner closely with F12’s internal teams to ensure clients receive consistent, proactive, and business‑aligned guidance. The vCIO is naturally curious, commercially aware, and technically credible. They translate complex technology topics into clear business value, helping clients make informed decisions across cybersecurity, cloud, AI, infrastructure, compliance, lifecycle planning, and business continuity. The vCIO will partner with assigned clients, Technical Account Managers, Integrated Service Team Managers, Sales, and other internal stakeholders to improve the overall health of each client’s business and technology environment.

Responsibilities
Client Strategy & Advisory

Serve as a strategic technology advisor for assigned clients, building strong relationships with executives and key stakeholders.

Develop and maintain technology roadmaps aligned to each client’s business objectives, risk profile, budget, and growth plans.

Lead strategic business reviews and translate complex technology topics into clear business recommendations.

AI, Cloud & Security Strategy

Lead client‑facing strategy across AI, Cloud, and Security, ensuring roadmaps align to business outcomes, scalability, governance, and risk mitigation.

Identify AI adoption opportunities,



including automation, productivity improvements, and data insights, while reinforcing responsible use, data protection, and governance practices.

Advising on cloud modernization, cybersecurity best practices, compliance expectations, and risk posture aligned to industry standards.

Guide clients in establishing practical governance frameworks for AI and Security, including acceptable use, access controls, data handling, policy alignment, risk ownership, and ongoing review.

Translate AI, cloud, security, and governance concepts into clear business value, enabling clients to make informed decisions and accelerate adoption across their teams.

Technology Planning & Risk Management

Guide hardware, software, infrastructure, and lifecycle planning to support performance, reliability, security, and cost‑effectiveness.

Support client technology budget planning, vendor recommendations, and modernization initiatives.

Support backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning in alignment with client needs and industry standards.

Client Growth & Sales Alignment

Partner with Sales, Technical Account Managers, and Integrated Service Teams to identify client needs and design appropriate solutions.

Support revenue growth within the assigned client base by identifying strategic solution gaps and opportunities for improvement.

Assist with prospective client conversations by uncovering business needs and contributing to solution design.

Internal Collaboration & Leadership

Collaborate with internal teams to ensure client documentation, standards alignment, and program compliance remain current.

Partner with technical teams and leadership to support upgrades, conversions, and client improvement initiatives.

Support internal initiatives, mentorship, and knowledge sharing that improve service delivery and client satisfaction.

Requirements

5+ years of experience in the IT Managed Services, consulting, or technology advisory industry.

Experience designing, developing, or advising on IT systems, infrastructure, and technology implementation plans.

Strong understanding of the varied needs of F12’s client base.

Strong strategic, commercial,



and business mindset.

Ability to conduct meaningful business conversations with executives, owners, and senior leaders.

Solid understanding of cybersecurity, cloud services, IT infrastructure, business continuity, and technology lifecycle planning.

Familiarity with Microsoft and Azure environments is considered an asset.

Understanding of AI, automation, and emerging technologies, with the ability to translate them into practical business value.

Solid analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making capabilities, with the ability to assess business operations, identify technology gaps, and recommend practical solutions.

Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.

Ability to influence without direct authority and build trusted relationships with clients and internal teams.

Ability to work effectively in a team environment while operating independently with minimal supervision.

Strong time management skills and the ability to manage deadlines and client commitments.
