As part of our Maintenance team, the Certified Millwright/Planerman is responsible for the maintenance, repair, installation & modification of all planer related equipment to safely maximize, uptime, quality and productivity. As the successful candidate, you are a skilled individual that is passionate about your chosen career. In addition to troubleshooting process maintenance issues, you are innovative in preventative maintenance practices with an ability to adapt quickly to changing demands and priorities. As someone who understands the utmost importance of safety, you will also contribute to a healthy and respectful work setting.
Responsibilities and Duties
Maintain the highest standards with respect to safety at all times.
Maintenance of all mill equipment
Demonstrated solid work ethic.
Organizational and time management skills.
Self-motivated and capable of working without direct supervision.
Ensure equipment is used safely, effectively and efficiently to maximize production and product quality. Particular attention paid to time management, quality of work, and cleanup.
Ability to understand and operate equipment and all aspects of the plant operation.
Must be able to follow company policies and procedures, competency based training programs as taught by the senior personnel.
Responsible for timely and accurate completion of all paperwork generated by their daily duties.
Other responsibilities as determined by the management.
Position requirements include:
Ability to work in a team environment or independently with little supervision
Knowledge of functionality and maintenance associated with associated sawmill and planer equipment.
Understanding of preventative maintenance processes related to mill equipment
Schedule flexibility – as work may require day, evening, and weekend shifts.
Valid class 5 driver’s license.
Previous experience performing preventative maintenance in a mill setting.
Robust interpersonal and communication skills
