Responsibilities

Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and fabrication specifications.

Set up, measure, cut, and fabricate metal components (steel, structural aluminum, etc.) using fabrication equipment (brakes, shears, rollers, presses).

Fit and weld parts according to project specifications using MIG, TIG, or stick welding.

Assemble sub-modules and structural components for installation in bridges or heavy infrastructure.

Inspect finished parts for dimensional accuracy, fit, weld quality, and finish standards.

Collaborate with engineering, CAD/model teams, and installation crews to ensure alignment between fabrication and field requirements.

Maintain tools and equipment; ensure work area is safe, organized, and clean.

Follow safety protocols, quality procedures, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications & Skills

Secondary school diploma required.

Minimum 2 years of experience in industrial or structural metal fabrication (experience with heavy-duty/bridge-type fabrication is a plus).





Ability to read drawings, blueprints, and shop fabrication layouts.

Proficient with fabrication tools and welding equipment.

Strong understanding of metal properties, welding practices, and structural fabrication.

Attention to detail, quality-focused mindset, and valuable physical stamina.

Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively in English.

Assets (Preferred)

Experience with structural steel: beams, plates, heavy sections, or bridge fabrication components.

Experience in a design-build manufacturing environment for infrastructure or transportation projects.

Familiarity with CNC cutting, laser/plasma systems, or advanced welding automation.

Manufacturing facility environment; may involve working at height, heavy lifting, and exposure to metal dust and noise.

Strict adherence to safety gear and PPE protocols.
