Overview Workday Technical Engineer role at Apex Systems in Travel Industry Domain. Hybrid location in Downtown Toronto (1-2 days in office). Full-time permanent position with 40 hours per week.
Responsibilities Workday systems development, maintenance, and data integrity in support of the existing HCM and Finance modules.
Collaborate with Technology, Finance, and Talent departments to design and implement recent global processes and integrations related to Workday.
Coordinate with Professional Services from third-party vendors to complete integration setup, testing, and deployment.
Lead research, design, development, and testing of current Workday integrations; convert functional requirements into technical specifications.
Perform Systems Integration Testing (SIT) prior to UAT and assist with the overall testing lifecycle across integrated systems.
Assist in UAT, track and resolve bugs, and provide SME guidance to in-house development teams for data exchange with Workday.
Manage tenant releases, hot fixes, and maintain continuous operations; monitor integrations and ensure data integrity and security.
Maintain security configurations, perform regular data integrity audits, and document systems, processes, and procedures.
Stay current with Workday releases and identify opportunities to leverage new functionality; provide cross-training for area coverage.
Qualifications & Skills 5+ years designing, configuring, and implementing Workday integrations.
5+ years supporting Workday modules (HCM,



Finance, Adaptive Planning, Payroll, Reporting, and integrations).
Experience with Workday SOAP and REST APIs; familiarity with EIBs, core connectors, RaaS, and Workday Studio.
Understanding of Workday security framework and business processes; experience with XML, XSD, XSLT; ETL tools (e.g., Mulesoft, Fivetran, Zapier, Jitterbit, SnapLogic).
Strong communication and documentation skills; knowledge of IT and financial controls.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment; Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
Workday Pro Certifications strongly preferred; experience with banking integrations and Workday-Salesforce integrations; experience working with business stakeholders.
