Onsite Wastewater Engineer / Project Manager – Ontario
Base pay range: CA$100,000.00/yr - CA$135,000.00/yr

A well-established consulting and engineering firm in Ontario is seeking an experienced Onsite Wastewater Engineer / Project Manager to join their Water & Wastewater group. This role is ideal for a technical leader with strong experience in onsite sewage system design, hydrogeology, rural land development, and environmental engineering.

You’ll lead projects end-to-end, manage client relationships, provide senior technical oversight, and mentor junior staff across multiple Ontario offices.

Key Responsibilities

Lead project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation

Oversee and mentor engineers, geoscientists, technologists, and technicians

Conduct and supervise field investigations in compliance with HSE and regulatory requirements

Analyze hydrogeological and wastewater data and prepare technical interpretationsli>

Prepare and review engineering evaluation reports, design reports, drawings, and specifications

Design onsite wastewater/septic systems (small and large subsurface disposal systems)

Complete mass balance and nutrient dilution calculations for Reasonable Use Criteria

Prepare environmental approvals documentation (ECA submissions)

Ensure project delivery meets schedule, budget, and quality expectationsSupport client retention, relationship development,



and business growth

Manage billing, project financials, and technical quality assurance

Travel to project sites and meetings as required

Qualifications

8+ years of consulting experience in Ontario

Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, Water Resources, or Wastewater Engineering

Licensed P.Eng. (in good standing) in Ontario

Strong knowledge of Ontario Building Code Part 8 and MECP wastewater design guidelines

Experience with hydrogeological tools (AquiferTest, MODFLOW, etc.) is an asset

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Robust report writing, data analysis, and client-facing abilities

Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor junior staff

Valid driver’s licence and reliable vehicle

Work Locations (Hybrid)
Work may be based in any of the following Ontario offices: Barrie, Kingston, Whitby, Peterborough.
