Position Summary
We are seeking a Licensed Therapist (LISW, LMHC, LMFT, or equivalent) with experience and passion for working with children and families. In this role, you will provide therapy services that promote emotional wellness, strengthen family systems, and address challenges such as trauma, behavioral concerns, attachment issues, grief, and more. This is a unique prospect to make a meaningful impact in the lives of children while working in a supportive agency environment.

Key Responsibilities

Provide developmentally appropriate, trauma-informed individual and family therapy to children and their caregivers

Conduct comprehensive assessments and create individualized treatment plans in collaboration with families and support teams

Utilize play therapy, attachment-based models, and other evidence-informed practices

Engage caregivers as active participants in the therapeutic process

Maintain timely, accurate documentation in compliance with agency, ethical, and licensing standards

Participate in case consultations, team meetings, clinical supervision, and interdisciplinary collaboration with schools, child welfare, and other community partners

Advocate for children and families in accessing resources and support services

Qualifications

Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Marriage & Family Therapy, or Psychology





Current and valid license (LISW, LMHC, LMFT, or equivalent) in the state of [State]

Clinical experience with children, adolescents, and families in an agency or community mental health setting

Robust understanding of child development, family systems, and trauma-informed care

Ability to engage with diverse populations with cultural humility

Familiarity with EHR systems and basic technology

Play therapy or child-centered therapy experience a plus (certifications welcome)

Requirements

Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, or a related field

Experience in family and individual counseling

Strong understanding of human dynamics and trauma-informed care, or willingness to complete training

Licensed or license‑eligible in the state of Iowa
