Role Description The Superintendent is a full-time, on-site role based in the Greater Calgary Metropolitan Area. This position oversees day-to-day site operations, including coordinating trades, scheduling work, and ensuring construction activities are completed safely, on time, and within budget. The Superintendent monitors quality of workmanship, manages site documentation, and ensures compliance with building codes, company standards, and relevant regulations. The role involves daily communication with project managers, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients to address issues, track progress, and maintain transparent expectations. The Superintendent also supports problem-solving on site, leads site meetings,



and promotes a culture of safety and accountability.
Qualifications

- Demonstrated experience supervising commercial construction projects, including coordinating trades, managing schedules, and overseeing site activities.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, building codes, safety regulations, and quality control practices.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project documentation.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for working with project teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients.
- Proven organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience implementing and enforcing site safety programs, including conducting toolbox talks and inspections.
- Proficiency with basic construction-related software and tools (e.g., project scheduling, digital documentation, email, spreadsheets).
- Previous experience as a Superintendent, Foreperson, or site lead in commercial construction is highly preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites within the Greater Calgary Metropolitan Area as needed.
- Relevant technical or trade certifications, apprenticeship completion, or construction-related education are considered an asset.
