Job Description
General Dynamics Mission Systems-Canada is hiring for a current vacancy and future Software Engineering openings for upcoming projects in our Air & Naval (A&N;) Sonar division. Join a team developing software solutions that support mission‑critical functions. These systems contribute directly to improving operational effectiveness, situational awareness, and decision‑making capabilities for defence partners around the world.
Responsibilities
- Develop high‑quality, maintainable code while adhering to project and coding standards.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Troubleshoot and resolve software issues, including root‑cause analysis and verification of fixes.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to support system design, integration, and validation.
- Provide technical support to internal stakeholders throughout the development lifecycle.
- Present technical content at design reviews and team meetings.
- Perform software requirements analysis, design, development, testing, and integration.
- Write and review software design documentation, test plans, and procedures.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical/scientific discipline.
- 3+ years of relevant experience with software development.
- Proficiency in one or more modern programming languages (e.g., C++, Java).
- Experience with Agile software development, object‑oriented design tools, and UML.
- Familiarity with Linux as a host workplace and software version control systems.
- Strong communication, problem‑solving, and analysis skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently with minimal supervision.
- Positive approach to learning, strong work ethic, and enthusiasm for taking ownership of work.
- Experience working with or familiarity with AI/ML models is preferred.
Additional Information
The hiring range for this position is $78,000–$115,000.
