Title: Bookkeeper
Salary Range: $65,000 - $78,000
Employment Type: Full-time
Work Arrangement: Hybrid

The Role
Key Responsibilities
Perform full-cycle bookkeeping for a portfolio of clients
Reconcile bank, credit card, tax accounts, and other balance sheet accounts
Prepare and file HST/GST returns and payroll remittances
Process payroll and maintain accurate payroll records
Support new client onboarding, including setting up charts of accounts, training on bookkeeping processes, and providing ongoing support and quarterly check-ins
Clean up and organize historical or incomplete bookkeeping records to support year-end preparation
Prepare working papers for year-end engagements
Support partners and accounting staff with year-end files and tax reporting requirements
Communicate directly with clients regarding bookkeeping matters
Provide updates to partners and managers on job status, deadlines, and client issues
Maintain accurate and well-organized digital records
Knowledge and Skills
Minimum 5+ years of bookkeeping experience, ideally within a public accounting firm
Strong understanding of Canadian accounting and payroll practices
Proficiency with QuickBooks Online/Desktop and Microsoft Office Suite
Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail
Strong written and verbal communication skills with a client-focused approach
Resourceful,
with the ability to problem-solve and work independently
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
Experience with CaseWare and CCH products is an asset
Experience with cloud-based accounting platforms such as Sage or Xero is an asset
