Machine Shop Technician – Horizontal Mill
Collins Aerospace is looking to hire a Machine Shop Technician – Horizontal Mill who will report to the Machine Shop Supervisor on the weekend night shift. The Technician will produce aircraft parts to drawing while operating machines in the cell.

Work Shift
Weekend Night – Friday – Sunday (6:00 PM – 6:00 AM)

Responsibilities

Perform own manual set‑ups by positioning and aligning tooling per set‑up instructions using CNC programming language (G codes).

Maintain tolerances by observing operation and making necessary machine offset adjustments, cutter changes and self‑inspection (OSV‑Operator Self Verification).

Document actions in support of quality logs, communicate all discrepancies in machining to supervision and create Product Defect Sheets (PDS) as required.

Perform work from set‑up sheets, manufacturing sheets and drawings.

Support and promote continuous improvement, 5S activities and Standard Work Development in the cell.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications You Must Have

High school diploma, with a minimum of one year of relevant manufacturing experience.

Experience operating CNC machines.

Experience with measuring equipment in support of quality requirements.

Experience reading and interpreting blueprints.

Qualifications We Prefer

Certificate of Qualification (C of Q).

5‑axis machining experience.

Willing to multi‑task as required.

Demonstrated ability to operate and use an overhead crane in a safe manner.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.





Willingness to train and operate other machines in the cell and willingness to work overtime.

Compensation and Benefits
The salary range for this role is $70,613 CAD – $97,190 CAD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
