Study engineering drawings and blueprints to determine the materials required and plan the sequence of tasks to cut metal most efficiently

Weld or bolt sections together

Lay out reference points and patterns

Construct patterns and templates

Assemble and fit plates and sections to form structures

Rig, hoist and move materials within shop

Qualifications

Fitting and welding experience is required (not jig fitting)

Must be proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and electrical prints
