Position Title: Teacher (Grade 7 Humanities)
Regent Christian Academy Society serves children and families across our campus schools, online school, and early learning programs. Regent Christian Academy (RCA) is our flagship campus-based school, serving the community through our Sullivan and Cloverdale campuses in Surrey, BC. We bring the RCAS mission to life through a vibrant, in-person learning community where students from Preschool through Grade 12 engage in rigorous academics, competitive athletics, and the fine arts. Reports to: Vice Principal
Overview The Teacher must be a dedicated, passionate, and adaptable educator who creates a nurturing, stimulating, and Christ-centered learning workplace. Operating at a 0.20 FTE capacity, the initial assignment will be responsible for fostering the academic, spiritual, and social development of Grade 7 students, with a specific focus on core Humanities curriculum areas (such as English and Social Studies), while supporting students through a pivotal transitional school year.
Key Responsibilities & Core Competencies Instructional Excellence:
Develop and implement engaging lesson plans for Grade 7 Humanities that align with the BC Ministry of Education’s standards and a Biblical worldview. Target core Humanities subjects to drive academic growth, literacy, and critical thinking.
Classroom Culture & Management: Create a safe, positive, and stimulating environment that encourages student participation, models servant leadership, and addresses the unique social-emotional needs of Grade 7 students.
Assessment & Support: Evaluate student progress through diverse methods and provide individualized support to ensure every child reaches their learning goals.
0.20 FTE Collaboration: Work effectively and communicate seamlessly with parents, students, and colleagues. Demonstrate strong organizational skills to effectively manage a part-time schedule or job-share environment.
Innovative Mindset: Adaptable and eager to implement creative, engaging humanities teaching strategies in a fast-paced environment.
Compensation & Benefits Pay: CA $54,000 - 87,000 annually (Full-Time Equivalent; to be pro-rated to 0.5 FTE based on experience and the salary scale).
Benefits: Extended Health & Dental, Pension plan available upon eligibility.

Requirements & Qualifications Certification: BC Teaching Certificate (Preferred).
Education: BA Degree in Education (or equivalent) with a relevant specialty or experience teaching middle-school aged children (Grade 6–9).
Skills: Proficiency in English and Humanities instruction, strong classroom management, and familiarity with office software for administrative tasks.
Spiritual Alignment: A deep understanding of a Christian and Biblical worldview, a commitment to Christian Education, and active participation in a Christian church community.
Relational Attributes: Friendly, even-tempered, optimistic, and a servant-hearted team player.
