Greenland Waste Disposal, the largest waste services company in the Prince Albert and Melfort region, is currently seeking applications for a Heavy Duty Journeyman Mechanic. This role would be based out of Prince Albert and Melfort. Some overtime will be required, including the possibility of some weekends and statutory holidays.
Job Duties
Pre Employment Drug Test
Maintenance and Preventative Maintenance of the Fleet
Knowledge of the operating and repair characteristics of large fleet vehicles
Must be willing to comply with all safety aspects and standard procedures
Ability to read and understand complex electrical & mechanical drawings, shop manuals and troubleshooting diagrams
Able to communicate clearly so the parts necessary for a job are ordered correctly and promptly
Able to work independently and to ensure quality completion of a project in a timely manner
Ability to provide close attention when working with small parts of complex equipment and to use valuable eyesight and hearing for diagnosing problems and inspecting work
Knowledge of the principals and operation of diesel and gasoline internal combustion engines
Additional courses in welding, ABS brakes, hydraulics, computer components and electrical systems is an asset
Should have Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 5 years heavy duty mechanic experience
