Reporting to the Utilities Manager, this role demands expertise in installing, repairing, and maintaining steam distribution systems. Candidates should have at least five years of related experience, and a valid Steamfitter certificate is required. This position is crucial for ensuring optimal operation of the university's facilities while adhering to safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Install, repair and maintain system components including pumps and valves
• Perform preventive maintenance on steam and chilled water equipment
• Fit, align, tack, thread, braze, and execute minor welds
• Make recommendations for system upgrades based on best practices
• Maintain a clean and compliant work workplace
Requirements:
• Valid Steamfitter certificate recognized in Nova Scotia
• Five years of related journeyperson experience
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
• Positive communication and organizational skills
• Must be willing to work overtime and respond to after-hours calls
