The Corporate Accountant supports the integrity and accuracy of the company’s corporate accounting function and financial reporting. This role is responsible for maintaining accounting records for corporate entities and collaborating with the corporate accounting team to produce consolidated reporting. The Corporate Accountant works closely with senior accountants and accounting managers on accounting matters, audit support, and process improvements.

This role is well suited for a CPA candidate or recently designated CPA looking to deepen their experience in a multi-entity, real estate-focused organization.

Salary Range
The annual base pay range for this position will be based on the desired experience level for this role. Additionally, Beedie recognizes exceptional individual and team performance through our pay‑for‑performance bonus program. Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting and Close

Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and adjustments for corporate entities

Perform month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close as well as consolidation activities in accordance with established timelines

Prepare balance sheet reconciliations, including cash, intercompany, and other key accounts

Maintain the integrity of the general ledger, subledgers, and supporting schedules

Assist with the preparation of management reports and financial statement packages

Audit and Compliance

Assist with the annual audit and interim reviews including the preparation of audit working papers

Assist with GST filings

Ensure compliance with ASPE and internal accounting policies

Analysis and Stakeholder Support

Analyze general ledger activity and investigate variances or unusual trends

Routine reviews of trial balances and other financial information





Collaborate with other finance functions, operations, and internal stakeholders

Support the corporate budgeting and reforecasting processes

Review and approval of invoices related to assigned entities and business units

Maintain supporting schedules for key reporting metrics

Process Improvement

Assist in opportunities to improve accounting processes, documentation, and controls

Assist with system enhancements, reporting improvements, and workflow efficiencies

Qualifications
Education and Credentials

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related discipline

Active CPA candidate or recently designated CPA or equivalent experience is an asset

Experience

2 to 4 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a multi‑entity or real estate environment

Exposure to month‑end close, account reconciliations, and financial reporting

Experience with real estate accounting software (e.g., Yardi) is an asset

Technical and Professional Skills

Strong understanding of accounting principles under ASPE

Strong fundamentals with Microsoft Excel skills

High attention to detail and strong analytical capabilities

Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines

Clear written and verbal communication skills

Professional judgment, integrity, and respect for confidentiality
