Become a vital part of the Acute Crisis Evaluation & Response Team (ACERT) as a Registered Nurse in Mental Health. This full-time position emphasizes crisis evaluation and detailed patient assessments.
In this dynamic role at the Emergency Mental Health Assessment and Care (EMAC), you will provide comprehensive nursing services including risk assessment and medication management. You'll actively contribute to a supportive care workplace, implementing crisis intervention techniques and fostering relationships between various healthcare teams while working to improve quality of care and patient safety.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct thorough risk assessments and crisis evaluations
• Administer medications responsibly during emergencies
• Liaise with psychiatric and emergency department teams
• Promote transitions to Inpatient Mental Health effectively
• Educate families and patients on coping strategies
Requirements:
• Must be registered with the College of Nurses of Ontario
• BScN or relevant nursing experience preferred
• Certification in psychiatric nursing advantageous
• Valid BCLS and naloxone administration necessary
• Non-Violent Crisis Prevention Training must be completed
