Salary Salary range: CAD $41.42–$59.52 per hour.
Job Summary Registered Nurse position providing cardiac patient care at Royal Columbian Hospital, Recent Westminster, B.C. The role involves rotating through specialty units while completing postgraduate specialty courses.
Responsibilities Assess patients and collect information from various sources using observation, communication, data review and physical assessment; make nursing diagnoses and determine appropriate interventions.
Collaborate with patients and families to develop, implement and modify care plans, encouraging family participation and ensuring respect for patient rights and autonomy.
Participate in the care and discharge planning process, updating care plans and coordinating with the interprofessional team and Patient Care Coordinator.
Coordinate nursing care, set priorities, delegate tasks to support staff, and refer to interprofessional team per protocols.
Collaborate with the interprofessional team—including physicians, LPNs, PC coordinators, clinical nurse educators—to identify and resolve issues and adjust care plans.
Teach patients and families about illness prevention, health restoration and maintenance to support self‑care and discharge plans.
Plan and discuss referrals with patients and families; initiate referrals to appropriate health care or community agencies.
Document assessments, diagnoses, interventions, outcomes and referrals per practices and Fraser Health procedures.
Participate in committees, care conferences and councils as assigned.
Engage in research and quality improvement activities, collecting data and recommending practice changes.
Attend in‑services and educational programs,



identifying learning goals and maintaining clinical competence.
Provide feedback to management regarding patient care programs, policies and equipment.
Perform other related duties as required.
Qualifications Graduated from an approved School of Nursing and hold current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
Completion of the applicable postgraduate specialty nursing course/program, or willingness to complete it.
Current certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS).
Skills and Abilities Complete initial and ongoing patient assessment and provide nursing care through appropriate interventions.
Communicate effectively with patients, families, the public, medical staff and interprofessional team via verbal, written and electronic means.
Promote person‑centered care, showing empathy, sensitivity to diverse cultures and patient advocacy.
Integrate and evaluate data from multiple sources to problem‑solve effectively.
Teach and instruct patients and families about essential health topics.
Organize and prioritize work.
Collaborate and promote cooperation among interprofessional team members.
Use factual information, prior learning and evidence‑based practice to support nursing decisions.
Operate related equipment, including computer applications.
Possess the physical ability to perform job duties.
