The Opportunity
WSP has a new opportunity for an Environmental Assessment and Remediation Project Manager to join our Remediation Program Management team based in Saskatoon or Regina . This role requires managing risk and closure of contaminated sites in the downstream oil and gas industry. The manager will design and oversee field work related to monitoring, investigating, and remediating contaminated sites impacted by hydrocarbons (diesel, gasoline, crude oil, etc.), fertilizers, and metals, as well as prepare technical reports. The position requires self‑motivation and strong time‑management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Create a safe and positive environment for colleagues.

Lead a project team and take on responsibilities including:

Reviewing health and safety plans and emergency response plans.

Preparation of proposals and cost estimates.

Report writing and reviewing, including preparing conclusions and recommendations.

Project accounting, tracking, and reporting requirements to the terms of reference under WSP’s Master Services Agreements.

Training junior staff in environmental practices including Phase I and II ESAs, drilling, surveying, groundwater sampling, and oversight of remediation.

Training staff on site‑specific health and safety.

Manage client relationships.

Collaborate across the national RPM team and WSP.

Develop a personal career development plan with specific goals to achieve career aspirations.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a related field (sciences and/or engineering).

Minimum 8 years of experience in contaminated site assessments.

Sound understanding of the need for health and safety procedures in the workplace and a safety‑conscious attitude.





Analytical mind capable of making recommendations on the next steps for client sites.

Strong business acumen and financial management experience, including developing, tracking, and forecasting on annual budgets.

Previous experience with soil and groundwater sampling and remediation.

Understanding of Saskatchewan environmental regulations.

Professional designation preferred.

Experience in the oil and gas sector an asset.

Compensation
AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $80,800 – $107,000.
MB & ON: $73,700 – $101,500.
NB, NL, NS, PE & QC: $73,000 – $96,900.

The final salary awarded for this role may vary from the above range based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs. The wage range provided in this posting may be subject to change for business purposes.
