Intent of the process
A pool of qualified candidates will be established and may be used to staff positions of various tenures including permanent or temporary.

Ongoing registration with a provincial Nursing regulatory agency in the Canadian province or territory of practice with no conditions or restrictions.Medical Clearance through Health Canada or alternatives designated by Health Canada.Valid CPR/AED level Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Valid CPR/AED for Health Care Providers (HCP) is also acceptable.

Your application must clearly explain how you meet the following

EDUCATION:Master’s degree in nursing from a recognized university with acceptable specialization as a Nurse Practitioner.





OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATION:Possess a Registered Nurse Practitioner license in good standing from the provincial regulatory body in a Canadian province or territory. (In order to be appointed, candidates must be registered in the province or territory where the position is being staffed.)

EXPERIENCE:A minimum of five years’ experience as a Registered Nurse.
Experience in working in a collaborative practice within a multi‑disciplinary team.

Applied / assessed at a later date

KNOWLEDGE:Knowledge of the Principles of Primary Health Care.
Knowledge of the Nursing Standards of Practice
Knowledge in assessing, diagnosing, treating and managing a broad range of acute and chronic physical and mental health conditions as a Nurse Practitione

EXPERIENCE:Significant* and recent ** experience as a Nurse Practitioner in a clinical setting.Significant* is defined as at least two (2) years’ experience with performing complex activities related to this task in a wide variety of situations.
Recent** is defined as within the last five (5) years.Experience in program management such as needs assessment, planning organizing, coordinating and evaluation.




Experience in planning and implementing health related programs.
Experience in planning, developing and coordinating comprehensive discharge plans for individuals with complex medical problems.
Experience working with Indigenous communities.
Experience working in Emergency or Intensive care units.
Experience working in a community‑based setting such as Public Health or Community Mental Health.
Experience working in maternal or women’s health.
Experience working in a correctional environment.
