Food Web
Nova Scotia
We’re looking for a founding systems operator to build with us on the ground floor — helping shape the internal systems and marketplace operations behind FoodWeb’s next stage of growth.
Food Web builds technology for the food economy. We design and operate practical tools that help food businesses thrive — including KitchenShare , a marketplace for commercial kitchen access, and Tippo , a hospitality operations platform for tip management.
Compensation
Meaningful founding-stage equity participation with structured vesting. (more details below)
Location
We are building a hands‑on team that works closely together day‑to‑day. This includes working alongside founders, collaborating in a shared workspace, and spending time in the field visiting kitchens, restaurants, and partners.
The Role
We’re hiring a founding operator to help build the systems and operating rhythm that allow FoodWeb to scale. This is a core role in shaping how the company executes day‑to‑day — turning early traction across our products and users into structured, repeatable, and scalable operations.
You’ll sit at the intersection of internal company operations and marketplace execution, helping ensure that both how we work and how users move through our platforms are clear, efficient, and continuously improving.
Marketplace Operations
designing onboarding systems for kitchens and renters
improving marketplace flow between supply and demand
documenting scalable onboarding processes
identifying friction points and user pain points
coordinating with product development to improve platform experience
Internal Operations
implement task and project management systems
coordinate priorities across the team
improving internal communication and follow‑through
identifying bottlenecks and operational friction
documenting repeatable internal processes (SOPs)
Who We’re Looking For
We’re looking for a hands‑on systems builder and operator who is excited to help shape an early‑stage company from the ground up.
This role is a strong fit for someone who thrives in fast‑moving,
collaborative environments and wants to be deeply involved in both building internal systems and improving how users move through our platform.
Must‑Haves
Genuine passion for food, and local food economies.
Strong project or operations management experience, including coordinating people, tasks, or workflows
Comfortable building systems, structure, and efficiency in fast‑moving early‑stage environments
Experience building/using ops systems, CRMs & other internal tools
Strong communication
Willingness to work in‑person and on the ground with the team
Nice to Have
Experience working in kitchens, restaurants, or other food environments
Familiarity with the food system or local food economy
Business experience or education in business, management, or related fields
Startup experience or exposure to early‑stage company environments
The Team - You’ll Work Closely With
Justin (Founder & CEO) — partnerships, ecosystem development, fundraising, hiring, community engagement, strategy, and mission alignment.
Keegan Francis (CTO) — product, software development, and technical systems.
You’ll also collaborate closely with a future Sales & Growth Lead to ensure operations and user acquisition stay aligned.
Jenna Oosterholt (CEO, Tippo) - Founder of Tippo, restaurant owner.
Jenna is a restaurant owner and operator turned tech founder with nearly two decades of experience in the hospitality industry. She brings deep, hands‑on knowledge of restaurant operations and leads Tippo as CEO, working closely with FoodWeb as the product’s development partner.
This is a founding‑stage role with meaningful equity participation rather than a traditional salary at the outset. We’re looking for someone excited to help build something meaningful from the ground floor and participate in its long‑term success.
Compensation includes:
meaningful equity upside
vesting and milestone‑based structure
pathway to formal founding/co‑founder status for the right fit
future salary as revenue/investment milestones are achieved
We expect a 3–6 month mutual fit period to ensure solid alignment.
Food Web Products & Current Stage

Current stage: We are now focused on refining the platform based on early user feedback, strengthening operational systems, and preparing for broader rollout and scale.
Tippo by Food Web (Hospitality Tip Management Platform)
Tippo is a hospitality operations platform designed to modernize and simplify tip management and distribution in restaurants and cafés.
Progress to date:
Co‑developed in partnership with an experienced restaurant operator (Jenna Oosterholt)
