We are seeking a Survey Technician to join our Horizon Mine Survey team. In this position, you will be integral in supporting Mine Operations, Reclamation, and Geology by providing technical and field survey assistance. Candidates with a passion for precision and a background in oil sands mining are highly sought after.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct weekly mine volume reconciliations for reporting
• Execute accurate survey layouts during construction phases
• Monitor in-pit and ex-pit structures for QA/QC
• Provide daily survey support to various Mine Operations groups
• Assist Mine Geotechnical and Projects with ongoing survey needs
Requirements:
• Survey Technologist or Geomatics Engineering certification
• Five years of oil sands mining experience preferred
• Proficient with Maptek survey scanners and PointStudio
• Excellent skills in Microsoft Office applications
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license
