What you’ll do:
Corporate & Commercial Legal Support

Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements, including customer and supplier contracts, master service agreements, leases, NDAs, RFPs, licensing arrangements, and other business agreements

Provide practical, risk-based legal advice on contract interpretation, structuring, and negotiations to support business objectives

Advise stakeholders on legal implications of business initiatives, regulatory compliance and ensuring alignment with organizational strategy while mitigating risk





Transactions & Corporate Matters

Support mergers & acquisitions, divestitures, data center commercial contracts and other strategic transactions, including due diligence and transaction documentation

Assist with corporate governance matters, including board materials, resolutions, and regulatory filings

Support public company reporting and securities-related matters, as required

Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management

Provide advice on legal and regulatory compliance, including corporate, commercial, consumer protection and industry-specific requirements

Identify and proactively manage legal and business risks across operations

Support development and implementation of policies, procedures, and compliance frameworks

Manage and support litigation, disputes, and claims, including coordination with external counsel

Assist with insurance-related matters, including claims management and reporting, where applicable

Cross-Functional Partnership

Act as a trusted legal advisor and business partner to internal stakeholders across functions (e.g., operations, commercial, finance, procurement, HR, and marketing)

Review and advise on a variety of business materials, including presentations, policies, and external communications





Work collaboratively on cross-functional projects and strategic initiatives

What you bring:

LLB or J.D. from a recognized law school and membership in valuable standing with a Canadian law society (Alberta preferred)

4–9 years of legal experience, with a strong focus on corporate and commercial law

Experience at a top-tier law firm is preferred; in-house experience is an asset

Exposure to a regulated or publicly traded environment and energy related industry or legal experience are considered assets

Experience supporting cross-border or U.S. matters

Strong business acumen with the ability to provide practical, solutions-oriented legal advice

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills

Robust communication skills with the ability to translate complex legal concepts for business stakeholders

Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment

High level of professionalism, integrity, and judgment, with strict adherence to confidentiality
