Are you thinking about advancing your career with one of the most successful logistics organizations worldwide? Here at Kuehne+Nagel, our Montréal-Nord, QC Canada Site is looking for a new Financial Analyst to join our Contract Logistics team.

How you create impact

Prepare accurate and timely customer invoicing, including providing accurate backup data and KPIs;

Ensure integrity of Customer Invoicing and P&L; entries for purchases and spend for Customer profitability reporting;

Design, develop and prepare accurate weekly and monthly management accounts, including reporting for the customer of Profit and Loss statements and Balance Sheet reconciliations ensuring all accruals and prepayments are justified and are in line with the Kuehne + Nagel Ltd. accounting standards;

Monitor actual spend against budgets for both Customer and Kuehne + Nagel Ltd and provide variance analysis including detailed explanations and costings;

Produce customer analysis and reports,



ensuring accuracy to the Operational Management team and Customers as applicable; Report standard KPI’s both from a financial and operational perspective;

Ensure all transactions are reconciled between Customer and Kuehne + Nagel Ltd. financial reporting on a weekly/monthly basis in order to achieve accurate financial reporting within the set deadlines;

Responsible for the daily administration and accuracy of timekeeping records and submission to payroll, ensuring that payroll costings are reported accurately against Customer Profit and Loss accounts and against budget;

Implement and develop processes, procedures and continuous improvements to ensure a lean, controlled working methodology is applied to all financial and operational administrative tasks and identify and drive cost saving initiatives;

Maintain and ensure costs accuracy and control the administration of purchases through internal Purchase Control system; Evaluate opportunities and prepare business case applications for purchases of capital expenditure and long term commitments;

Design and produce financial tracking tools to assist the operation to ensure budgets are maintained and aid the business with implementations, start‑ups and capital investments, ensuring financial matching principles are adhered to;

Attendance at meetings as requested and preparation of reports to review Financial Reporting with clients and internal Management Team;

Increase financial awareness at all levels,



ensuring adherence to Kuehne + Nagel Ltd. financial standards and procedures;

Preparation of monthly rolling forecasts and annual target setting, ad hoc variance analysis;

Provide ad hoc monthly and weekly analysis;

Assist central finance in monitoring and ensuring outstanding Customer debt is kept current at all times;

Assist with purchase ledger queries to ensure they are resolved in a timely manner;

What we would like you to bring

Professional certification, diploma, or degree in Finance or Accounting

5+ years’ experience working as a financial analyst, financial accountant, controlling, or a similar role, within a freight forwarding, logistics, transportation environment

Knowledge of pricing and cost components in freight forwarding, ideally across multiple business fields

Excellent organizational and project management skills

Ability to maintain focus work on multiple projects and deadlines

Strong numeracy skills and negotiation skills

Advanced computer skills, including full proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite required

Proficiency in French and English (English-speaking clients)
