Responsibilities
Scheduling: Develop and manage project schedules for complex projects or multiple smaller projects.
Health, Safety & Environment (HSE): Apply and enforce HSE policies; identify, report, and mitigate site risks.
Financial: Ensure project financial control, including procurement, forecasting, profitability, and project close-out.
Quality Assurance (QA/QC): Develop and manage the project quality control plan.
Risk Management: Identify, manage, and report project risks.
People Development: Coach, develop, and mentor the team; conduct regular one-on-one meetings.
Stakeholder Management: Maintain and develop long-term relationships with key project stakeholders.
Contracts & Compliance: Execute contractual requirements established by the Senior PM or Project Director.
Procurement: Manage and adjust the procurement schedule and process as required.
Stakeholder Communications: Maintain ongoing communication with clients, consultants, and stakeholders regarding schedule, costs, changes, and project progress.
Organize client site tours, document OAC meetings,
and act as liaison between professionals and the client.
Financial Management & Cost Control: Participate in project budget development with the Estimation and MEP teams, prepare monthly progress draws, manage subtrade billings and payments, approve purchase orders, manage the change order process.
Monitor, forecast, and control project costs; produce monthly project reports.
Project Planning & Scheduling: Participate in early project planning with the Site Superintendent, prepare, monitor, and update the project schedule and critical path.
Coordinate utility services with the ownership and MEP teams; identify schedule risks, secure critical delivery dates, and implement mitigation measures.
Conduct weekly site visits and review daily work reports; issue notices of delay or default in accordance with contract terms.
Maintain a thorough understanding of the prime contract and support preparation of final approval documentation.
Estimation & Procurement: Contribute to tendering efforts, collaborate with Estimation and MEP teams to solicit and analyze bids, prepare or delegate scopes of work for major trade packages, award contracts to subtrades and professional consultants.
Coordination, Compliance & Quality: Maintain close collaboration with the Site Superintendent, coordinate permitting and regulatory requirements, chair design and construction meetings, ensure compliance with change management, document control, and contractual deliverables, ensure deficiencies and quality issues are tracked and resolved.
BIM:
Support and enforce BIM requirements and deliverables with consultants and subtrades, demonstrate a strong working knowledge of BIM coordination processes and platforms.
Health, Safety & Workplace: Enforce HSE requirements of local authorities and Broccolini policies and procedures, follow up on monthly safety audits with the Superintendent and/or HSE representative.
LEED / Sustainability (if applicable): Ensure LEED or carbon-neutral initiatives are implemented on site in accordance with contract documents, support required documentation, inspections, and reporting.
Site Administration: Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, maintain daily reports, HSE documentation, and photo records using Broccolini tools, promote a high level of communication with site administration.
Qualifications
DEC or diploma in technology (architecture, civil, or mechanical) or a bachelor’s degree in engineering in a related field (building, civil, construction, mechanical, electrical), or equivalent experience.
Gold Seal Project Management certification (an asset).
Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience as a Project Manager – Level 1.
8–10 years of progressive construction experience, preferably including leadership and mentoring.
Bilingualism required (French and English) to communicate with clients outside Québec.
