Job Description: The EMT-P will respond to calls for service as per dispatch instructions, providing assessment, treatment and transportation of ill or injured persons. The EMT-P will cover standby assignment, as operations require. Preference for this position will be given to HSAS members in accordance with the terms and conditions of the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement

Advanced Care Paramedic Diploma (ACP)
Licenses
Valid Class 4 driver's license
Other Education and Training
Pediatric Advanced Life Support Certificate (PALS)
Health Care Provider Level C Certificate (HCP-C)
International Trauma Life Support Advanced Certificate (ITLS)
Pre-Hospital Care Program - Advanced Care Paramedic (ACP) Level
Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certificate (ACLS)
Basic - Interpersonal skills
Basic - Communication skills
Knowledge and Abilities
Ability to work and communicate in a cross cultural setting
Ability to establish working relationships with clients during times of distress

Must be able to respond to the ambulance within 10 minutes when on-call

No guaranteed hours. Must be Available a minimum of twenty-four (24) hours per 3 week period. Must be available all shifts, short shifts, short notice calls, stats and holidays, where applicable
