WSP is looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to work across the full project lifecycle, delivering high‑quality, cost‑effective designs for commercial, residential, retail, and institutional building projects. The role involves mentoring junior staff and building strong client relationships.
Responsibilities
Lead mechanical building design projects from concept through construction
Apply professional engineering judgement to ensure technical excellence, constructability, and cost effectiveness
Design and coordinate HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and fuel systems for complex building projects
Ensure designs comply with National, Provincial, and Municipal codes and standards
Research and implement innovative and sustainable mechanical design solutions aligned with client objectives
Manage select projects including budgets, schedules, and milestone deliverables
Collaborate with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams through meetings, proposals, and business development efforts
Mentor and peer‑review the work of junior engineers and designers to support team growth and quality outcomes
Qualifications
Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution or equivalent
Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) licensed in Ontario
10+ years of experience in a mechanical consulting engineering environment
Robust working knowledge of Canadian building codes and standards
Proficiency with AutoCAD, Carrier HAP or Trane TRACE, and Microsoft Office
Experience using MEP Revit is highly desirable
LEED accreditation and sustainable design experience are considered strong assets
PMP designation or willingness to pursue is an asset
Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret level security clearance

Compensation
BC, AB, SK, NWT & NT: $104,100 – $138,000
MB & ON: $95,000 – $130,800
Atlantic Provinces & QC: $88,500 – $124,900
