Job Description The Division of Neurosurgery, Department of Surgery at the University of Saskatchewan and Saskatchewan Health Authority is actively recruiting a qualified specialist neurosurgeon.
The successful neurosurgeon will provide coverage of Acute Care Neurosurgery call.
Call is Tuesday to Monday between 1 in 4 and 1 in 8 weeks.
There are relief nights on Thursdays and Mondays (unless a holiday) from 17:00 to 8:00.
Remuneration Weekly Rate: $18,814.55 Accommodations: Upon submission of SHA expense claim form and receipt to a maximum of $200/night Mileage: $0.51/km for 1 return trip per locum assignment (or vehicle rental).
Travel Time: $20/hour for 1 return trip per locum assignment.
The position is based at Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon.
Currently there are eight Neurosurgeons providing provincial comprehensive neurosurgery care to a population of over 1.2 million people.
The Acute Care Neurosurgery call covers general neurosurgery, trauma and general pediatric neurosurgery.
There are separate call services for endovascular neurosurgery and spine.
The successful applicant will be required to work collaboratively with the other members of neurosurgery program.
The individual will be required to provide excellence in patient care and residents teaching.
Job Qualifications Candidates in consideration will hold Royal College certification in Neurosurgery and be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan.
