The Strategic Planner has a highly visible role in the Supply Chain, he is responsible for developing, maintaining, and executing the master production schedule, to ensure alignment between customer demand, production capabilities, inventory levels, and supply chain requirements. This role acts as a central point of coordination between sales, operations, procurement, and inventory management to drive on-time delivery, efficient resource utilization, and optimal inventory levels.
Working collaboratively with Customer Service, Sales, Operations, Purchasing/Planning, R&D;, and product managers is of paramount importance to reach these objectives.
Key responsibilities
Produce sales forecasts by product based on sales history and future events resulting from the sales and marketing strategy, the market or even factories.
Actively participate in the launch, deployment, and promotion of new products by acting as a liaison between Sales/Marketing and Operations.
Analyze demand signals and historical data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities in the supply plan.
Prepare and lead the CPFR "Collaborative Review of Planning and Forecasts" meetings with the clients under his responsibility.
Prepare and lead the Capacity Planning Review (CPR) meetings with the plant team to determine needs and constraints.
Follow up on production planning by ensuring compliance between production plans and actual performance.
Work closely with Operations to optimize inventories.
Identify and suggest alternative production site scenarios for products that could optimize overall costs.
Develop tools to analyze and improve key performance indicators.
Any others tasks or analyses required.
Professional qualifications and competencies
1) Minimum education level
Bachelor’s degree in business administration/operations management
2) Minimum experience
3 to 5 years in production/supply planning
3) Required skills
• Bilingual (French/English), written and spoken
• Experience with SAP & SAP BW
• Solid Expertise in MS Office and other reporting software.
• Proven analytical skills
• Adaptability to quick-changing environments and priorities.
• Aptitude for presenting information and answering questions from managers and colleagues
• Ability to work in a team
• Ability to exercise multifunctional leadership
• Solid communication and team-building skills and the ability to influence others
