Your Key Responsibilities

- Perform and lead teams carrying out power system modelling and studies using PSS/E, including the following: - Power flow
- Transient (dynamic) analysis
- Post‑transient analysis
- Short circuit
- Preparation of scripts and programming to facilitate large numbers of simulations and automate compilation of results
- Lead meetings with the client to initially kick‑off the project, review project progress and present results and recommendations.
- Work with the project team to meet the allotted time, scope, and budget of assigned projects.
- Prepare and review study reports, identifying assumptions, methodology, analysis, and results.
- Assist/lead technical proposal development for study opportunities.
- Deep understanding of electrical power system and power electronics theory.
- Experience with PSS/E required, experience with PSLF preferred.
- Familiarity with Python programming
- Experience with other power system simulation tools would be considered an asset.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to effectively explain and discuss solutions with clients and lead the project team.
- Self‑motivated and able to collaborate with teammates and clients.

Education and Experience

- Minimum Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Ph.D. degree preferred.




- Minimum 5 years of experience in power systems studies, but more than 10 years of experience preferred.

Pay Range

- Locations in Lower Mainland – BC, GTA & Ottawa Ontario: $114,600.00 – $164,600.00 Annually

Pay Transparency

In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part‑time roles will be pro‑rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
