Key Responsibilities
Review and make decisions on development permit applications
Investigate zoning complaints and by-law violations
Conduct planning research and policy work
Prepare reports and recommendations
Support long‑range department planning initiatives
Collaborate with team members on policies, projects & development permits
Qualifications
University degree in urban and regional planning or a related field
Minimum 4 years of experience in planning or a related field
Full or candidate membership in positive standing with CIP and APPI
Proficiency with industry‑standard software such as ArcGIS and 2‑D/3‑D rendering software
Relationship‑building skills, sound judgment, and ability to work independently and in a team setting
Valid NWT Class 5 Driver's License
Salary
The City of Yellowknife offers a salary of $99,541 per annum plus perks as outlined in the Public Service Alliance of Canada Collective Agreement.
