The Food Services (I) role is supervised by the Food Services Supervisor and primarily performs routine food service duties. These duties include preparation, portioning, assembly, delivery, distribution, disassembly, cleaning, operating industrial food service equipment, inventory stocking, cash transactions, and customer service across all department functional areas. Food Service delivery is provided to Long Term Care residents and the role typically operates independently, making decisions when no supervisor is on duty. The position offers a competitive rate of pay and a Remote Retention Allowance of up to $3,000 per year, payable hourly for all hours paid at the basic rate.
Description
The Food Service I will be responsible for executing a variety of routine tasks associated with basic food preparation. Typical duties include packaging and portioning food items, preparing food according to set guidelines and menus, serving meals to patients and customers,
and cleaning and sanitizing equipment, dishes, tables, and serving areas.
Required Qualifications
Completion of Grade 10 or equivalent.
Physically capable of lifting food, supplies and equipment up to 46 pounds and pushing/pulling meal carts up to 250 pounds.
Ability to walk and stand on your feet for the duration of the shift.
Additional Required Qualifications
Basic computer skills.
Food Secure Handling Certificate required within three months.
Ability to work independently and quickly learn; solid teamwork and organizational skills.
Demonstrated interpersonal and customer service skills.
Fluency in English (reading, writing, speaking).
Physically fit with ability to perform heavy lifting up to 20 kilograms.
