Purpose of Role: Weir Marine Engineering seeks a Missile Systems Analyst with experience in naval warfare. The analyst performs flight modeling and simulation, supports system design and software algorithms, assists with waterfront and at‑sea integration testing, develops analysis toolsets, and reports on performance of naval missile and support systems used by the Royal Canadian Navy. The role is based in Halifax, NS and requires liaison with naval projects, initiating at‑sea tests, conducting technical investigations, and validating system performance and tactical effectiveness for the River Class Destroyer (RCD). Experience with the Royal Canadian Navy is desirable.
What You’ll Do
Figure missile engagement envelopes and edge‑case performance
Design innovative and effective missile firing analysis tools
Monitor the performance of naval missiles and suggest improvements throughout equipment lifecycles
Collaborate with NETE analysts, naval staff,
industry scientists and engineers
Demonstrate a 100% commitment to zero‑harm safety behaviors
What You’ll Bring
Security clearance – must obtain a Government of Canada security clearance; requires Canadian citizenship and a minimum of 10 years of continuous residence in Canada
Education – Master’s degree in engineering or science, preferably in aerodynamics, missile guidance, or guided weapon systems
Experience – at least two years of missile analysis experience
Skills – proficiency in large data manipulation, software programming, and combat system integration
Desirables – productive self‑directed work, teamwork, and troubleshooting proficiency
