As the Woodlands Operations Manager, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and directing forestry operations. Your primary focus will be to ensure effective and effective management of resources, meeting production goals and maintaining a safe and environmentally conscious work environment. Responsibilities
Direct and guide supervisors to achieve production targets and cost objectives.
Forecast production, inventory levels, and take necessary actions to address any discrepancies.
Manage and uphold quality, safety, and environmental standards across the operation.
Drive and enhance productivity by optimizing the performance of contractors and company equipment.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth operations and address any cross-functional challenges.
Implement and monitor performance metrics to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
Conduct regular site visits and provide support to supervisors and team members.
Stay updated with industry trends and best practices, and implement creative solutions.
Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies.
Lead and motivate a high-performing team, fostering a positive and secure work culture.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree or College Diploma in a relevant field, such as Forestry, Natural Resources, or a related discipline.
A minimum of 10 years of experience in the forestry industry, with a solid understanding of operations and management.
At least 5 years of supervisory experience, demonstrating effective leadership and people management skills.
Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and time management abilities.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
Proficiency in using relevant software and tools for forestry operations management.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships.
A proactive and results-driven approach to work, with a focus on continuous improvement.
Willingness to travel and work in a dynamic and sometimes remote work environment.
A valid driver's license and the ability to operate various forestry equipment.
