Outbound Product Manager, Advanced Product Designer (APD) & Integration Gateway
Product Development and Operations / Full time / Hybrid
Join Guidewire’s Product Development & Operations (PDO) team, where we deliver operational excellence and transformative innovation for the world’s leading P&C; insurers. Our team builds secure, scalable, and effective cloud platforms, with a strong focus on AI, data, and customer‑centricity. We thrive in a collaborative, inclusive environment that values curiosity, continuous learning, and bold problem‑solving.
As an Outbound Product Manager on the Guidewire Cloud Platform, you will own the outbound product story for two strategic platform areas: Advanced Product Designer (APD) – our cloud‑based, no‑code product configuration platform (including the tooling and services that migrate Standards‑Based Templates (SBT) commercial lines onto APD); and Integration Gateway (IG) – our cloud‑managed integration runtime for InsuranceSuite. This role is pivotal in capturing market and customer insights, identifying unmet needs and opportunities, and translating them into clear product direction, customer value, and commercially meaningful outcomes across product modeling and integration. You will collaborate across teams to ensure these platforms deliver measurable value, efficiency, and adoption for our customers.
What you’ll do
Across both product areas
- Act as the Outbound Product Manager for APD and IG.
- Engage directly with customers, partners, and field teams to understand real‑world product configuration, model, and integration needs.
- Synthesize market, customer, and field insights into actionable product opportunities and a prioritized set of outbound requirements.
- Translate insights into clear positioning, value narratives, and enablement that drive adoption of APD and IG.
- Represent APD/SBT and IG topics in customer meetings, advisory groups, workshops, and Connections sessions.
- Partner closely with Inbound Product Managers and other Platform PMs, and collaborate with Architecture, Standards, Security, SRE, Professional Services, Enablement, Sales, and Marketing to align roadmap, customer readiness, and go‑to‑market execution.
Advanced Product Designer (APD) & SBT
- Champion APD as the single source of product truth that generates UI, metadata, and Cloud REST APIs to power PolicyCenter, Jutro, Integration Gateway, and other Guidewire Cloud services.
- Drive the outbound direction for APD feature enhancements, including product modeling, multi‑state support, rules, content layering, and managed content delivery.
- Own the customer‑facing narrative and adoption strategy for migrating SBT commercial lines onto APD via “Safe Landing,” the one‑time conversion path that produces Cloud APIs with no policy data migration and no product refiling.
- Help shape the evolution from SBT 1.0 on PolicyCenter to an APD‑centric managed‑content pipeline (SBT 2.0), gathering field input on conversion priorities and platform dependencies needed to represent ISO‑based content faithfully.
Integration Gateway (IG)
- Position IG as the standard integration runtime for InsuranceSuite on Guidewire Cloud,
articulating when to use IG versus direct Cloud APIs versus customer ESBs.
- Represent the breadth of the IG platform to the field across API gateway and management, messaging and eventing patterns, connectivity patterns, observability, and developer experience.
- Champion the end‑to‑end developer journey, from discovery and onboarding through design‑time experience to run‑time monitoring and troubleshooting, and feed friction points back into the roadmap.
- Partner with the Marketplace team to position and grow adoption of pre‑built integration accelerators and Built‑By‑Guidewire IG apps, improving discoverability and attach rates for marketplace‑delivered integrations.
What you’ll bring
Required
- Strong ability to synthesize customer, market, and field input into actionable insights that influence product direction and go‑to‑market execution.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Working knowledge of integration concepts such as REST APIs, messaging and eventing (pub/sub, queues, retries), webhooks, and event‑driven, batch, or file‑based patterns.
- Working knowledge of product configuration or model‑/metadata‑driven systems.
- Familiarity with cloud‑native delivery concepts: multi‑tenant SaaS, security and data privacy, versioning, lifecycle, and observability.
- Familiarity with the P&C; insurance domain and/or core systems.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with Inbound Product Managers and cross‑functional teams while maintaining a clear outbound focus.
- Demonstrated ability to embrace AI and data‑driven insights.
- Comfortable presenting and facilitating discussions with diverse audiences.
- Excellent English speaking and written communication skills.
Preferred
- 8+ years of Product Management experience or equivalent in a customer‑facing, technical role.
- Bachelor’s degree in technology, computer science, engineering, or equivalent; Master’s degree is a plus.
- Hands‑on familiarity with Guidewire PolicyCenter / InsuranceSuite.
- Experience with product modeling, no‑code/low‑code configuration platforms, or insurance product authoring.
- Familiarity with ISO / bureau commercial lines content (ERC) and US Commercial Lines lines of business.
- Conceptual or practical familiarity with Apache Camel and with ESB / iPaaS products.
- Understanding of API lifecycle management, including versioning strategies and backward compatibility.
- Experience defining platform SLAs/SLOs and partnering with engineering/SRE on availability, scalability, and performance.
- Ability to travel 5–15% as needed.
Your Impact
In your first six months, you’ll immerse yourself in customer and market research across both APD/SBT and Integration Gateway, build strong cross‑functional relationships,
and deliver actionable insights that shape the APD roadmap, the SBT‑to‑APD migration strategy, and the adoption of IG as the standard integration runtime for InsuranceSuite. Your work will drive measurable improvements in customer adoption, platform efficiency, and product innovation, directly supporting Guidewire’s mission to deliver secure, scalable, and cloud‑native solutions. Over time, your influence will extend across teams and customers, helping Guidewire set new standards for product configuration, integration, and customer value.
