Role Description The Security Guard is a full-time, on-site role based at SHUYI TEALICIOUS in Ottawa, ON. This role is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for customers, team members, and company property. Day-to-day tasks include monitoring the premises, conducting regular patrols inside and outside the store, and identifying potential safety or security risks. The Security Guard will respond to incidents, de-escalate conflicts when possible, and follow company protocols for reporting and documentation. The role also involves assisting customers and staff with security-related concerns, coordinating with management and local authorities when needed,



and supporting compliance with health and safety guidelines.
Qualifications
Strong Interpersonal Skills and Customer Service abilities to interact calmly and respectfully with customers, team members, and visitors.
Experience or training in Physical Security, including access control, surveillance, and routine patrols of the premises.
Knowledge of Personnel Security practices, focusing on protecting staff and supporting a safe workplace setting.
Background in Private Security or related security services, with familiarity in incident response and reporting procedures.
Ability to remain alert and make sound decisions under pressure; strong observational skills and attention to detail.
High level of integrity, reliability, and professionalism, with a commitment to following company policies and local regulations.
Valid security guard license or certification as required by provincial regulations in Ontario.
Ability to stand, walk, and perform light physical activities for extended periods; capability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Experience in retail, hospitality, or customer-facing settings is an asset.
