Large and diverse corporation located on the subway line seeks an ambitious Vice President Finance that wants to reach the next level of management! This position has a corporate analytical slant.
Responsibilities
Planning, directing and analysis for multiple entities
Managing the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of consolidated business results
Coordinating and preparing internal and external financial statements
Coordinating activities of external auditors
Providing management with information vital to the decision-making process
Managing the entire budget process for all entities
Assessing current accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement and implementing current processes
Evaluating accounting and internal control systems
Evaluating the effectiveness of accounting software and supporting database, as needed
Developing and monitoring business performance metrics
Overseeing regulatory reporting,
frequently including assisting with tax planning and compliance
Hiring, training and retaining skilled accounting staff
Guides financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures.
Maximizes return by monitoring bank balances and investments
Provides status of financial condition by collecting, interpreting, and reporting financial data.
Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
Completes operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees;
following up on work results.
Maintains financial staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
Maintains financial staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees;
planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
Troubleshooting with warehouse and operational staff.
