The Journeyperson Welder is responsible for operating welding equipment to repair and/or fabricate tank structures at our client’s location. This role travels across the country to different client sites and reports to the in office CT&V; Project Manager or Superintendent for that site. Shifts schedule changes depending on our client (8 to 12 hours/day). The welder must meet all site requirements before being deployed to the site.
Job Duties:
Read and interpret blueprints or welding process specifications
Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded
Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment
Operate submerged arc welding equipment
Operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment
Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements
Perform or assist with fit-up and preparation of welds
Ensure all safety paperwork is filled out daily
Perform job while at heights and/or in confined spaces




Perform job while kneeling, squatting, and/or frequent bending
Pushing, pulling, lifting, or carrying objects weighing up to 60 pounds (e.g., welding machines, hose, wire, etc.)
Qualifications:
API 650/653 Tank Building and/or Repair experience, preferred
FCAW / SMAW - CWB all position tickets
Journeyperson or 2nd / 3rd year welding apprentice
SAW (3 O’clock/LT7 Goat) experience, an asset
WHMIS2015 Certification
H2S Alive Certification, an asset
Fall Protection Certification, an asset
CSTS or SCOTT or CSO Certification
Confined Space Certification, an asset
Areal Work Platform (AWP) Certification, an asset
Pre-employment and pre-access drug and alcohol testing (as per client’s requirements)
