Associate Professor, Medical Laboratory Sciences
Full time, Temporary Full‑time. Department: Medical Laboratory Sciences. Site: Michener Institute. Salary: $48.67 – $51.63 per hour (commensurate with experience). Hours: 35 hours weekly. Vacancies: 1 (replacement).

Responsibilities

Provide academic leadership and foster an effective learning workplace.

Use innovative teaching techniques to facilitate learning in theory and practice, primarily in Chemistry and other subjects as needed.

Evaluate student progress, provide advisement and remedial assistance.

Liaise with faculty, staff and clinical partners.

Participate in internal committees.

Qualifications

Minimum 6 years of experience with in‑depth expertise in at least one Core Laboratory discipline.

Skilled in teaching introductory and advanced classes and labs, primarily in Chemistry disciplines.

Experience using EPIC or similar LIS software is desirable.

Master’s degree required; Doctorate preferred.

Experience working/teaching in the field within the last 12 months preferred.

Certification and membership in relevant professional associations required.

Licensure or eligibility to obtain licensure with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists Ontario required.

Training and experience in adult education desired.





Skills in various teaching approaches, including online/hybrid delivery.

Strong organizational and leadership skills.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Familiarity with MS Office, presentation and curriculum‑design software.

Satisfactory Canadian Police Clearance document required upon hire.
