Job Description
Field Technician
Location: Windsor

Key Responsibilities
Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems independently in the field
Willing to research difficult issues through manufacturers, online resources, technical support, and software updates
Strong work ethic with a “do not give up” attitude toward diagnosing and repairing equipment issues
Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision
Team player with strong communication skills
Adaptable working hours and available for emergency service calls when possible
Must follow CVOR legislation including Hours of Service and daily vehicle inspections
Ensure work is being performed in a safe and productive manner in accordance with Amico’s health and safety standards/policies
Diagnose onsite the repairs required to ensure maximum uptime/productivity for the Amico Fleet as problems are reported by the field operations
Own and maintain proper tools required to perform basic repairs and maintenance
Maintain quality workmanship and repair the Amico Fleet in a cost-efficient manner
Prepare accurate service and repair reports in an accurate and timely manner
Accurately update field service work orders in a timely fashion with details of the repairs completed
Key Qualifications
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the repair of heavy equipment in the field and or shop
Post Secondary education in a field related to heavy equipment mechanics, truck and coach mechanics, diesel engine mechanics or related field.
Ability to evaluate, diagnose, and repair various hydraulic, electrical, or mechanical issues
Working knowledge of cutting, welding, and fabrication
Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and prioritize requests from the field operations
Willing to work versatile shifts subject to the schedule of Amico’s field operations
Organized team player with the ability to work with a sense of urgency based on the priority of the project
Ability to communicate and work effectively with the field operations and support team
Experience working with various makes of construction equipment and support equipment
421A license will be considered an asset
Valid Driver’s license with a clean Driver’s Abstract
Travel Requirements:
Travel to worksites located in the GTA and Southwestern Ontario area as required.
