Provide diagnostic cardiac and electrophysiological testing and monitoring to support cardiology services. Ensure accurate data collection, patient safety, and timely documentation of test results.

Main Duties
Perform diagnostic cardiac tests including resting and ambulatory ECGs, Holter/event monitoring, and exercise stress testing.
Prepare patients for procedures by obtaining medical history, explaining test steps, and monitoring vital signs during testing.
Operate, calibrate, and perform routine quality control and basic troubleshooting on cardiac monitoring and electrophysiology equipment.
Assist cardiologists and electrophysiologists during non-invasive and invasive procedures, including setup, patient positioning, and sterile technique support when required.
Record, process and maintain accurate test data and reports in electronic health records while ensuring patient confidentiality.
Provide patient education and post-test instructions, and participate in infection prevention and workplace safety protocols.
Requirements
Completion of a recognized cardiac technology, electrophysiology,
or related post-secondary program, or equivalent clinical experience.
Clinical experience performing ECGs, ambulatory monitoring (Holter/event), and exercise stress testing.
Current basic life support/CPR certification or equivalent.
Familiarity with cardiac monitoring and electrophysiology equipment and basic maintenance procedures.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective patient interaction and teamwork.
Ability to maintain accurate documentation and follow established clinical protocols and infection control practices.
Required Skills
ECG acquisition and artifact reduction techniques.
Monitoring and recognition of common cardiac rhythms and arrhythmias.
Operation and setup of Holter/event recorders and exercise stress testing systems.
Assisting in electrophysiology procedures and supporting catheter lab workflows.
Proficiency with electronic health records and clinical documentation systems.
Patient assessment, education, and effective communication skills.
