Job Description
On behalf of our public sector client, Affinity is seeking an experienced Business Solutions Manager to work on our BC Hydro Energy Management project and ensure our portfolio continues to meet evolving business needs. This role acts as a trusted advisor to business and technology leaders, translating strategy into high-quality solutions while driving delivery excellence.

Deliverables

Lead complex requirements-gathering and stakeholder workshops across multiple business units

Analyze and translate business strategy into functional and system requirements

Define solution scope, objectives, success criteria, and business cases

Partner with technology teams to guide solution design, development, testing, and implementation

Lead quality assurance activities, including test strategy, test plans, and acceptance validation

Provide oversight for small to medium projects, including planning, scheduling, and reporting

Identify risks, dependencies, and opportunities for improvement across initiatives

Support change management, implementation reviews, and transition to sustainment

Develop and deliver training and knowledge-transfer materials

Provide internal consulting and advisory services to business and IT stakeholders

Maintain high-quality documentation to ensure consistency and governance compliance

Requirements

Demonstrated experience integrating and working with industrial and building data systems, including:

Electrical submetering systems (e.g., Schneider EcoStruxure PME / ION or equivalent)





Building Management / Automation Systems (BMS/BAS) (e.g., Reliable Controls, DeltaControls, Johnson Controls)

Utility and operational data sources (e.g., BC Hydro, FortisBC, or comparable utilities)

Must have

Minimum 5+ years of experience in an IT Business Analyst role

Proven experience working on complex or cross-functional initiatives

Integrating data across multiple systems and platforms

Experience joining and analyzing datasets with different structures and time intervals(e.g., correlating electrical submetering data with operational or transportation datasets)

Ensuring data quality, validation, and consistency for reporting and analytics

Supporting data-driven operational and asset management decision-making

Degree or diploma in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline

Nice to have

Business Analysis (BABOK), ITIL, and/or Project Management certifications are assets

Experience working with BC Hydro EMIS programs or Alliance-approved service providers

Familiarity with energy data platforms, vendor ecosystems, or procurement frameworks(e.g., Nexus Marketplace or similar)

Experience in energy management, industrial operations, or infrastructure environments

Knowledge of carbon markets, including:

BC Low Carbon Fuel Standard (LCFS)

Federal Clean Fuel Regulations (CFR)
