Exciting role as a CIRO Policy Counsel, specializing in Member Regulation Policy to advance Canada’s investment industry. Engage in a hybrid model while driving policy initiatives.
You will report to the Director of Member Regulation Policy and play a crucial role in drafting and revising Dealer Member regulations. Collaborating with diverse stakeholders, your responsibilities will include managing the approval process and presenting policy matters to committees. Strong legal skills and communication are key to successfully represent CIRO.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop new and revised regulations and guidance
• Oversee the approval process for regulatory initiatives
• Prepare materials for CIRO advisory committees
• Support CIRO's external representation and presentations
• Provide explicit interpretations of Dealer Member regulations
Requirements:
• Law Degree (LL.B. or J.D.) required
• Good standing with a Canadian Bar Association
• Minimum 3 years of legal experience
• Project or transaction involvement is advantageous
• Previous compliance experience with Dealer Members is beneficial
