CAE Customer Service Engineer, customer support Virtual Manufacturing & Costing

Purpose
Provide Technical Support, Sales Support and Training for Cadence MSC Virtual Manufacturing & Costing (VMC) product lines Simufact and FTI; contribute to the product documentation, training materials and similar.
Responsibilities
Application and support of manufacturing simulation in an international environment.
Helpdesk support for our customers and international sales partners (web portal, e‑mail and telephone) to resolve customer issues.
Creation of application examples, tutorials, training material and other documentation for our software. Define and promote industry best practices.
Preparation and conduction of mainly customer‑specific training courses.
Independent and autonomous conduction of service projects.
Thoroughly document product issues, interact effectively with colleagues in Product Development, sales, support and other departments.
Drive product evolution and quality via feedback to other groups in the company.
As part of all tasks: continuously analyse the fields of application of our simulation and investigate potential improvements in modelling, numeric and implementation.
Requirements
Good general knowledge in the CAE technical field, up to 5 years of experience. Preferably relevant skilled experience, including internships and similar,
or otherwise acquired theoretical and practical knowledge in one or more of the mentioned manufacturing technologies. Preferably simulation experience, including internships and similar, in the field of non‑linear finite elements, preferably with the manufacturing processes mentioned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Strong understanding of the physical and material science fundamentals and interactions of metal manufacturing processes, in particular forming, welding or additive manufacturing, welding.
A working knowledge of the FTI or Simufact products is of advantage.
Business fluent written and spoken English skills are required.
Good knowledge of Windows and/or Linux systems is desirable.
Some knowledge of Python, MATLAB, or other computer language (e.g., C++, Fortran, etc.) is desirable.
Availability to travel as required.
Highly motivated individuals and work to task completion, including occasional off‑hours. Independent and autonomous way of working, ability to work in a team and willingness to learn.
Education
Completed university degree – mechanical engineering or materials engineering – with a focus on production engineering, forming technology, welding technology or additive manufacturing; alternatively with focus on Computer Aided Engineering, Finite Element Method and / or other numerical and mathematical methods. Master’s degree is highly desirable. We are happy to offer career changers or graduates with adequate knowledge and experience an opportunity.
