As the Distribution Long-Term Planning Engineer, you'll report to the Manager and oversee critical planning strategies and growth analyses for Hydro Ottawa's distribution system. Your role will incorporate advanced data analytics, load forecasting, and regulatory compliance to drive system planning decisions and arrive at cost-effective solutions. You will play a key part in ensuring that 5-year Distribution System Plans align with corporate objectives and contribute significantly to energy sustainability.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct Annual System Peak Reviews for reliability
• Develop long-term load forecasts and capacity plans
• Create Planning Guidelines and execute Non-Wires Solutions
• Optimize capital projects through Asset Investment Planning
• Collaborate with IESO and municipal entities on energy plans
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering
• Licensed Professional Engineer in Ontario
• Experience in system planning and project management
• Knowledge of Power Engineering Software (e.g., CYME)
• Proficient in office tools, preferably Google Workspace
