The salary range for this position is CAD $42.56 - $52.95 / hour.

Job Summary
We are currently hiring for Casual Certified Hand Therapist to join our Rehabilitation team at Jim Pattison Outpatient Care & Surgery Centre located in Surrey, B.C.

Responsibilities

Conduct clinical and therapeutic assessments of clients using evidence-based approaches and standard tests.

Analyze therapeutic needs and plan short- and long-term treatment programs consistent with client goals.

Implement treatment programs with diverse intervention approaches and modalities.

Evaluate the effectiveness of interventions through ongoing assessment and adjust strategies as needed.

Participate in clinical program development and quality improvement activities.

Prepare and maintain client records with evidence-based rationale.

Collaborate with physicians, other healthcare disciplines, family, and community regarding client progress.

Model hand therapy techniques and comply with standards of practice.

Provide direction to staff on splint/orthotic fabrication and maintenance.

Attend meetings and client conferences, providing feedback to families and team members.

Ensure safety of work and safe use of all treatment equipment.

Engage in ongoing professional development and research activities.





Participate on internal and external committees regarding hand therapy interventions.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Graduation from an approved school of Occupational Therapy or Physical Therapy.

Two years’ recent related clinical experience in Hand Therapy and/or splinting, or equivalent combination.

Certification in Hand Therapy (CHT) through the Hand Therapy Certification Commission.

Current full registration with the College of Health and Care Professionals of British Columbia (CHCPBC).

Eligibility for membership in the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists or Physiotherapy Association of BC.

Skills and Abilities

Demonstrated knowledge of evidence-based clinical practice related to Hand Therapy.

Knowledge of the scope and practice of other healthcare disciplines.

Knowledge of biomechanical and assistive technology concepts and current trends.

Ability to develop, implement, and revise educational programs.

Effective communication skills, verbal and written.

Excellent planning, problem-solve, organization, and prioritization skills.

Ability to teach and facilitate learning of others.

Ability to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team.

Ability to develop and maintain rapport with clients and stakeholders.

Ability to operate related equipment and software applications.

Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
