Support the environmental permitting process for a major infrastructure initiative. Work closely with stakeholders to align project goals with regulatory and community requirements.
In this role of Environmental Permit Coordinator, you'll facilitate crucial permitting processes across federal, provincial, and municipal levels. You will liaise between project teams, regulatory agencies, and Indigenous communities to guarantee compliance and project alignment. Your focus will be on managing permits, supporting effective communication, and ensuring environmental mitigation in project design.
Key Responsibilities:
• Coordinate environmental permit applications and reviews
• Research innovations to mitigate environmental impacts
• Prepare public engagement materials for community meetings
• Audit third-party environmental monitors for compliance
• Identify risks associated with environmental approvals
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s in Environmental Science, Biology, or similar
• Minimum 1+ years of experience in BC permits
• Familiarity with local and federal environmental laws
• Excellent communication, project management, and writing skills
• Legally authorized to work in Canada
