Drive impactful child welfare initiatives as a Customary Care Coordinator. Coordinate education and implementation of the Customary Care model across First Nations and Wikwemikong.
In this contract role, you will educate communities on the Customary Care service model while advocating for best practices in child protection. Your direct experience in child welfare, especially within Anishinaabe contexts, will significantly enhance service delivery. This position also emphasizes collaboration among First Nations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Educate on and promote Customary Care practices
• Coordinate agreements across affiliated First Nations
• Apply relevant legislation in service provision
• Monitor and evaluate child welfare standards
• Engage in cultural competence initiatives
Requirements:
• Bachelor of Social Work Degree or similar
• 5 years experience in child welfare sectors
• Knowledge of community standards and laws
• Experience with Anishinabek populations preferred
• Open to participating in cultural activities
