Reporting toWuxly'sHead of Industrial Design, the Product Developer will lead the development of innovative apparel, tactical equipment, and advanced textile products from concept through production. Working closely with design, sourcing, manufacturing, and external partners, this role transforms customer requirements and emerging technologies into scalable, high-performance solutions that meet rigorous quality, regulatory, and operational standards acrossdefence, government, and consumer markets.
The Opportunity
- Lead creative apparel, tacticalequipmentand advanced textile products from concept through production.
- Translate customer requirements and emerging technologies into scalable, high-performance solutions.
- Partner with Design, Sourcing, Manufacturing,Qualityand external suppliers.
- SupportDefence, Government, tactical and premium consumer programs.
WhatYou’llGet Up To
Product Development
- Lead end-to-end development of apparel, tactical equipment, softgoodsand textile-based products.
- Translate customer requirements, technicalspecificationsand performanceobjectivesinto production-ready products.
- Develop and manage BOMs, technical specifications, constructiondetailsand product documentation.
- Coordinate samples, fit reviews, prototypeevaluationsand product testing.
- Drive product improvements using test results, manufacturingfeedbackand customer input.
Project Management
- Manage multiple development projects whilemaintainingtimelines,budgetsand quality standards.
- Coordinate Design, Sourcing, Production, Quality,Engineeringand external manufacturing partners.
- Track milestones and proactively address risks,bottlenecksand development priorities.
- Support new product introductions through production readiness and commercialization.
Materials & Supply Chain
- Source and evaluate fabrics, trims,hardwareand advanced textile technologies.
- Collaborate with suppliers toidentifyinnovative materials and manufacturing solutions.
- Balance customer specifications, performance, manufacturingcapabilityand cost.
Technical Development & Testing
- Participate in pattern reviews, constructionoptimizationand manufacturability assessments.
- Coordinate product testing,validationand field evaluations.
- Analyze performance data and implement product improvements.
- Support compliance with applicable military,governmentand industry specifications.
Quality & Continuous Improvement
- Maintainaccuratetechnical documentation throughout the product lifecycle.
- Support ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 processes.
- Participate in root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Improve development processes, costefficiencyand production scalability.
- UseAI responsiblyto improve research, specifications,documentationand workflow efficiency.
- Identifyopportunities to automate repetitive work whilemaintainingaccuracy and human oversight.
- Supportadoptionof digital tools that improve development speed and collaboration.
Skills & QualificationsRequired
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Product Development, Apparel Design, Industrial Design, Textile Engineering,Engineeringora relateddiscipline.
- 4-8years of experience in product development, apparel, soft goods, technicaltextilesor manufacturing.
- Experience managing products through the complete development lifecycle.
- Solid understanding of garment construction, materials,
manufacturingmethodsand product specifications.
- Excellent organizational,project-management, written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
Software & Digital Tools
- Advancedproficiencyin AdobeSuite, MicrosoftExceland Microsoft Office.
- Experience using Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) platform.
- Experience with product documentation,project-managementand collaborative development tools.
- Ability to use AI-enabled tools responsibly to improve research,documentationand development efficiency.
Preferred Qualifications
- Technical outerwear, tactical equipment, military apparel, softgoodsor performance products.
- Advanced textiles, extreme cold-weather systems,sheltersor concealment products.
- Product testing, fieldevaluationand regulated specification compliance.
- Canadian and/or international manufacturing experience.
- Defence, Government or other regulatedproduct-developmentexperience.
