Make an impact in the lives of students as a part time School Counsellor at Nakusp Elementary School in beautiful southeastern BC. Deliver vital mental health services and social-emotional learning support for the 2026-2027 school year.
School District No. 10 is seeking a creative and dedicated educator to join its team at Nakusp Elementary School. You will deliver preventative and responsive mental health services while guiding students through social-emotional learning. This 0.5 FTE temporary contract role will empower you to collaborate with community agencies, enhancing the well-being of students and fostering positive development.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide social-emotional learning classroom instruction
• Coordinate school-based mental health services
• Facilitate referrals to appropriate support agencies
• Develop positive relationships with students, parents, and community
• Engage in professional learning and contribute to the School Growth Plan
Requirements:
• Valid Teaching Certificate from BC Teacher Regulation Branch
• Master's degree in counselling psychology or related field
• Minimum 3 years in successful teaching and counselling experience
• Expertise in social, emotional, and behavioral needs
• Understanding of indigenous cultures and First Peoples Principles
